The Forest Floor Initiative is our green program, created to contribute to offsetting the unavoidable impact that our work has on the environment. I’m pleased to confirm that COBA is now officially partnered with the National Forest, who will plant at least 20 trees per annum on our behalf.
About The National Forest Project
Described as “one of the country’s boldest environmental projects”, The National Forest is transforming the landscape across three Midlands counties, including Leicestershire (where COBA Flooring’s headquarters are located) as well as Derbyshire and Staffordshire. The aim is to link the ancient Forests of Charnwood with Needwood Forest, and make the most of the forest through great landscape, high quality recreation for families to enjoy, heritage and habitat for wildlife. Some 8.5 million trees have been planted since the project was launched in 1995 and forest cover has increased from an initial 6% to 19.8%.
COBA Flooring is delighted to be playing a part in this throughout 2019-20, reinforcing our commitment to the environment through our business practices and associated projects. There is a natural synergy between our Premier interlocking entrance tiles and the environment.
Entrance Matting & The Environment
Premier entrance matting is ideal for a wide variety of environments, including those areas subjected to high levels of footfall – making it perfect for retail and shopping centres, office reception areas, and hotel/leisure foyers to give just a few examples. Ease of installation, ease of cleaning and ease of replacement are just a few of the benefits of Premier entrance tiles.
While Premier Plus and Premier Track are normally installed in recessed matwells, there is the ingenious Premier Surface recently developed by COBA Flooring for locations where a matwell is simply not feasible. Premier Surface is a super smart solution to many entrance matting challenges.
Our Forest Floor Logo
We have designed and launched our own logo to support our Forest Floor Initiative and raise awareness for The National Forest project. Throughout the year, we will be keeping our flooring customers and colleagues updated on our ‘tree planting progress.’ So, please show your support by specifying Premier entrance matting for your flooring projects in 2019-20.
