EcoBuild Inspiring us to Build a Sustainable Future

EcoBuild Logo 2016Every year the EcoBuild exhibition is getting bigger and better, while keeping a tight focus on the exhibition’s theme of sustainability within the building and construction industries. The exhibition is taking place at the ExCel exhibition and conference centre, and will run from Tuesday 8th – Thursday 10th March 2016.

City of London

There will be 800+ exhibitors from the UK and around the world. This is a great opportunity to connect with senior buyers from the industry.

EcoBuild is a key date for architects, engineering firms, contractors and house builders. Although we don’t have a stand there, our COBA Flooring team, are keen to see the new emerging technologies for the flooring industry.

Eco flooring is something we are especially interested in, here at COBA Flooring. We have a number of products that have been manufactured from recycled materials and support eco-friendly projects. Last week we planted a considerable number of trees to support The National Forest Project through sales of our Premier range of Entrance Mat Tiles, a product range manufactured from recycled materials (more news to be revealed soon…).

Over the years, we have been working in collaboration with architects on new build and refurbishment commercial projects. Some of our entrance matting systems and flooring products have been manufactured from 80-100% recycled materials.

One of our entrance matting systems which has been manufactured from 100% recycled PVC, is the perfect addition to any eco friendly building project. The floor tiles from the Premier Grip entrance tile range are suitable for indoor or outdoor use and effectively scrape dirt from footwear.

Where possible we try in include recycled PVC in our entrance matting systems. The Premier Track and Premier Plus entrance matting ranges feature approximately 80% recycled materials along with nylon carpet or needle punch carpet.

What’s new at EcoBuild for 2016?

This year there are two new showcase features; the ‘Discover’ section will display the latest innovations and future materials that will soon be entering the construction industry.

The Smart section will display intelligent building technologies, and also smart infrastructure and urban development ideas within three individual room sets.

A must see at the EcoBuild exhibition is Stephen Fry. He will be hosting the BD Architect of the Year Awards dinner. You can find out more about the whole exhibition on the EcoBuild website.
