Ping On Par With Fatigue

PING Europe has installed COBA’s Fatigue Fighter II® matting at its head office and manufacturing operation in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. The order came via Cromwell Doncaster.

Fatigue Fighter II® matting has been installed in various production areas of PING’s world renowned facility manufacturing bespoke golf clubs of exceptional quality for some of the most successful golfing professionals, as well as the discerning recreational golfer requiring high quality, tailor-made equipment.

PING employees, such as those pictured in the Iron Cells 1 and 2 Shafting Area (where golf heads are attached to the shafts) spend the vast majority of their working day standing. Installation of matting has been initiated to reduce fatigue from standing on a hard floor surface, creating a more comfortable environment for PING employees to carry out their daily tasks.

Fatigue Fighter II® is a premium quality anti-fatigue mat featuring a tough PVC foam top surface for resilient wear and tear, and a low-density bottom layer to provide the cushioning underfoot. This fused, dual layered mat has been designed to reduce pressure from standing especially to the feet, legs and lower back, and is available in black, blue or green in a variety of widths and lengths.

A recent scientific study commissioned by COBA and conducted by Loughborough University emphatically confirmed that anti-fatigue mats can significantly increase comfort to workers who stand for prolonged periods and also help to reduce fatigue.

Nick Dear, Environment Health & Safety Manager, PING Europe Ltd says, “The working environment for all our employees is important. COBA was able to supply a quality product designed to reduce fatigue and create a more comfortable working environment for our employees.”

Just as COBA was founded over 40 years ago as result of two inspired individuals who recognised the business potential, it was a similar story for PING’s founder Karsten Solheim (a mechanical engineer working for GE Electric who took up the game of golf in 1954) back in 1959 when he came up with a design for a highly superior putter that made a ‘ping’ sound when it met the ball.

Today, PING Europe employs approximately 190 people shipping to distributors throughout Europe. As well as hard goods, the company also supplies a wide range of bags and accessories

Over 140 matting and flooring products are available from COBA today and the new COBA Collection catalogue is out now. For further details on COBA’s full range of industrial matting and flooring, please telephone: COBA on 0116 240 1088 or email: RCOOKE@cobaeurope.com www.cobaeurope.com
